The MCAS staff

Our Arabic teachers are native speakers and highly qualified to teach the language at any level. They are all graduates of some of Morocco’s top universities and hold respective degrees in Arabic, literature, linguistics, or communication. In addition, they are also competent users of English, French, Spanish and Tamazight. All of the teachers are qualified to teach Arabic as a foreign language and they have taught Modern Standard Arabic “Fusha ” and Moroccan Darrija Arabic professionally at local educational institutions and universities.

Program Director: Ali Bensebaa is the founding director of MCAS. He obtained his B.A. from Mohammed V University in Rabat, Morocco and his M.A. in Business Communications from the University of Moulay Ismail in Mekness. He was a Fulbright Scholar who studied Communications at the State University of New York.  He has worked with many schools, universities and other organizations and has hosted many study abroad programs from the US, UK, Canada, Netherlands, Turkey, Russia, Spain, Sweden, and more. Currently he is working to complete his PhD, which focuses on domestic tourism in Morocco. He is fluent in English, French, and Arabic, and speaks some Spanish.

Program Coordinator US: Thaddius Leavens is from California, USA. He holds two bachelors degrees, one in Spanish from the University of California, Davis, and the other in Linguistics from the University of Utah. He also studied for two summers at Harvard University.

Program Coordinator UK: Samia Sadiqi has an MA in Public Relations and Adverstising and is from Rabat, Morocco . She works closely with students, interns and volunteers wishing to come to Morocco. She is in constant contact with our program participants.

Program Coordinator Morocco: Jihane El Hilali has an MA in Applied linguistics from the University of Moulay Ismail and comes from the city of Mekness. She also holds a BA in English Literature and has worked with many study abroad program providers. At MCAS coordinates project placements as well as home stays. She is in constant contact with students, volunteers and interns. She is fluent in French, English, Arabic and German.


  • Abdessalam Nouisel is an Arabic Teacher and has worked for MCAS for seven years. He has a BA in English Studies from Mohammed V University in Rabat. Following the completion of his degree, he joined an international organization called AIESEC. Through this organization, he had two internships in Romania and Hungary, where he taught English to children and adults and gave private Arabic lessons to professionals and university students. Additionally, he has represented the Moroccan culture in forums, conferences and summits, namely the Climate Change Summit held in Copenhagen, Denmark. Now he teaches Arabic at MCAS. He is fluent in English, French and Arabic.


  • Ikbal Naserddine is a French and an Arabic teacher with a Masters Degree in Multingual and Specialized Translation from the Mohammed Bin Abdellah University in Fez. Ikbal has taught Arabic and French at MCAS to many university students and has also worked in developing Arabic Programs and pedagogy in teaching Arabic as a foreign language. She is fluent in English, French and Arabic.


  • Wissam El Ghazal is a French and Arabic teacher with a BA in English Studies and is a very active member of our Student Club.
